See, It Really Did Snow

Sorry for the picture quality, I took these on my phone last night leaving campus. Regardless, this is the snow blizzard I was talking about last night. Yes I dislike winter, but I do love how much fun the first real snow can be. The 5 year old comes out in me... snowball fights, snow slushies, and all.

Easy Peasy

Shirt: Calvin Kline, Sweater: American Eagle, Jeans: Gap, Belt: Forever21,
Ring: JcPenny's, Boots: Old Navy, Bag: TjMaxx

Guys, it's a blizzard outside right now. When these pictures were taken it was freezing rain. You can kind of see it in a few of the pictures. But now? I can't even find my little baby car Susie. Hello Michigan winters. It's so not nice to see you again!

This outfit kind of reminds me of the American flag, and good ole' American style. It's simple, comfortable, and makes work to class an easy tradition. And that's how I like things. Easy (lets just not let that get around).

Also, my ring has a frog on it. Kinda cool right?

Jumbo Shrimp

This is my jumbo shrimp outfit. Not because I think I look like a jumbo shrimp cocktail swimming around some cocktail sauce or anything, but because to me this is an oxymoron outfit.

See when I was in elementary school we learned about oxymorons. I understood what they were, but could never remember any. That is aside from jumbo shrimp. I think it's because it was food. Any who... this outfit to me is muted loudness (which is an oxymoron, duh). The colors aren't in your face, but for me the details are. Between the ruffles, animal print, and bows on my shoes (which ya probably can't see) it had a lot going on equaling jumbo shrimp.

I like this outfit and I like jumbo shrimp. If it works, it works.

Open Window

So I was planning on taking pictures Friday while we were traveling, but then I fell asleep in the car. That tends to happen. So instead you get a happy picture of me and that boy of mine, who so kindly took my picture Thanksgiving day.

Did everyone have a great weekend? I know I did. It was full of family and friends and good laughs and good love. What was the highlight for me? Snuggling up in bed with the window open listening to it rain all night. It's November people, and I'm in Michigan. That NEVER happens.

Talk about special :)

Thankful

Hat: NineWest, Shirt: New York & Co., Cardigan: Macy's, Jeans: Tommy Hilfiger Outlet,  Shoes: BCBG, Jewlery: Forever21, Purse: JcPenny

As my Thanksgiving Day comes to a close I sit fuller than necessary, quietly, and completely content in my parent's home while I write this. It was a wonderful day full of family, great food, and friends. This year I have so much to be thankful for and I want to take a minute to reflect on the most important parts.

There are not words to describe how thankful I am for the most loving and supportive family I could ever imagine. This year has been a tough one for us as a whole, but today demonstrated to me to an even higher degree how much we all love one another. My family is simply the best.

I am also incredibly thankful for my friends. They have been the love, laughter, and joy that has gotten me through every bit of the day-to-day adventure. Without you guys I would be one big ole ball of stress.

I hope this Thanksgiving has found you and yours in great company and comfort, just like mine has. Enjoy the Black Friday shopping my friends!

LAPS

Dress/Shirt: Urban Outfitters, Button Down: JcPenny's, Blazer: Forever21, Boots: DSW

Just for the record I DO NOT live in my leggings. I know I wore my leggings as pants (LAPS if you will) Tuesday also, but quite simply it's a way for me to attempt to "put together" an outfit when I don't want to actually get dressed. Or maybe Tuesdays should officially be LAPS day. I feel that sweat pants aren't acceptable in my half grown up world anymore (otherwise known as class and group meetings), and for some reason public nudity is frowned upon in the community (a true shame right?). But, leggings feel just as great as sweats do, and are considered in style. It's a win for everybody.

I also have rules for wearing my LAPS in public. For example, whatever I'm wearing on top of the fore mentioned LAPS must be able to cover my bum. If it doesn't then, quite frankly, I should just go nude.

Or not.

And Then We Went Hiking

So this is how my life has gone since last Wednesday. Ready, set, rewind!

On Thursday I went home (which I guess isn't really my home anymore, but my "parent's house"), because my mother has decided to re-do my childhood room into a more adult-like setting. AKA she has officially kicked me out. Just kidding. But really, I had to go home to sort through all kinds of memories. Which I did successfully and somewhat sadly. I mean look at all the cool things I found! Including my first concert tickets ever. Don't hate on the Hanson (still one of my favorite bands of all time), I went to see them when I was in 3rd grade with my very best friend and we squealed the entire time.
Later that day I headed back to my actual home(also known as my mailing address) to have a night out with some of my favorite friends. It was an absolute blast filled with dancing and laughter.
Then Saturday rolled around, and it was time for the last home football game of the year. On the way to it my friends and I decided to take a nature walk through campus. We found some pretty neat things along the way, including this crazy art under one of the bridges on campus.

Hope you all had as great of a weekend as I did!

Welp, See Ya Later

Coat: Kenneth Cold, Shirt: Old Navy, Pants: JcPenny (super old), Shoes: Anne Klein

This is my FAVORITE coat I have ever owned. It was a surprising Christmas present from the boy last year. He's good like that.

It's gotten cold here (explains the coat). And windy (point proven by the hair in picture two). This spot on campus was perfect for pictures this morning. Although the man doing the gardening seemed surprised to see me. Most of campus has started to go grey, but back here is this hidden color. It made me smile. Unfortunately I think it's time to say good bye to my precious fall weather and try to be welcoming to winter. Extra emphasis on try.

Just Another Manic Monday... I Mean Tuesday

Hey Folks! I don't see an outfit post happening today, so instead check out this video of a very smart little comedian. It's helping me get through this busy day. BONUS: She knows how to cheer for my MSU Spartans :)

Reasons I Avoid the Library

Sweater: Macy's, Dress: Banana Republic Factory, Boots: Ninewest

This time change is killing me. That, and actually being a pretend productive student. I went to take pictures outside today and would you believe it, it was dark out! This is why you get the indoor pictures and a sample of my workout equipment, that get used often (JOKES I tell ya!).

Being in the library can really be stressful on your clothing choices. Our library is either 90 billion degrees too warm, or freezing. Also, your cell phone never has service (and yes that I do need my cell phone to study, I'm productive remember?) I decided layers is the way to go. Layers also came in handy since this shirt dress tends to show off my booty more than is probably school appropriate. Even if I do totally hit that stairstepper everyday to keep it looking nice, I try to be modest now and then.

Yes, again with sarcasm.

Weekend Update

This weekend I had the chance to not only hang out with my boy (pictured at top), I got to go to my first Red Wings game! It was great to get to see the boyfriend whom is currently living on the East Coast, and I even got to spend some time with some of my other favorite people. Especially these two girls with me in the last picture. I've never been that into hockey, but here in Michigan Wings hockey is one of the few things to get us through the long winter months.

After Friday night the boy and I got to relax back at my place and enjoy some of the most amazing sushi I have ever had. Seriously about killed me in all its fantasticness!

How was your weekend?

A Friday PSA

Tshirt: Teddy's Ts, Bag: Vera Bradley

Hey everyone. I'm getting ready to head out (indicated by the packed bag behind me) for an exciting weekend with friends and only had a few minutes to snap a quick pic. I'm actually wearing a favorite tshirt of mine made by a man I met at a conference earlier this year. Teddy, who makes tshirts, is a man with Downs Syndrome. He started his own business a while back and sells great tshirts with awesome messages! I plan to work with people with disabilities in the future and this message means a lot to me. If you want to see some other cool things Teddy has made check him out here.

Hope everyone has a restful weekend! I hope to have lots of things to share come Sunday.

P.S. If you get a chance, check out the breathtaking giveaway Miss Mara is having over at M Loves M! You won't regret it.

When It Rains, It Curls

Shirt/pants: Old Navy, Bracelets/Earrings: F21, Boots: Diba via DSW

It's been raining a lot here lately, and then it turned to snow. Which the snow inflicts all sort of other pain (I'm not ready for it yet Mother Nature!), but when it rains my hair gets crazy curly and sometimes you just have to go with it. Hair can be so demanding.

In other news, I haven't blogged in a long time. But I want to get back at it and this is my start. Nothing like leopard print to make your grand (re)entrance into the world! I want to keep this up because quite simply I like getting dressed for the day.

P.S. Hope you love my purple wall. I was left to do pictures alone this morning, which equals awkward shoe shots.
