Oooooh hey there! Remember me? I'm that girl that used to write on this blog a few times a week. And then I fell off the face of the earth. Yeah, that's me... right here!

Sorry for the short term hiatus. I took some time off to work on some things in my personal life. Shocking I know that people who write blogs actually have those. Who woulda thunk it? Anyways, I have returned and am happy to let you know I am not running around naked, and have been getting dressed.

I missed you all so much!

I don't have a lot to say today so here are just a few random thoughts for the night.

1) I woke up a lot later than planned and this is what I threw together.

2) The buttons on this sweater make me think of "Miss Mary Mack', mack, mack all dressed in black...

3) I did not do any sort of recreational drugs before these pictures was taken. I was facing into eye watering breezes.

So today I am participating in a style challenge by the blog Everybody, Everywear. Have you heard of it? Once a month they hold a style challenge for anyone who wants to be involved. This months challenge was black and white (which is huge for color blocking right now). 

This is how I do my black and white. Although I love the simplicity of the two colors, I always need something to jive it up (jive? who says that?). So today I added  a new hot pink blazer and a pretty blue necklace. The outfit makes me feel put together, but also a little exciting.

How do you choose to style your black and whites?

P.S. Yes the wall in the third picture does say Bacteriology. And yes, my campus does have a building devoted to the study of bacteria. It's ok to be jealous.

Misconceptions

This is what you wear when you go for a bike ride in sunny, brisk weather. Well this and a couple other layers, and gloves, and a head band. This is also what you wear when you realize your well intentioned leisurely exercise, is not leisurely. Instead it is ear ache windy, hilly, sweaty even though you're cold, and not successful. 

And then you turn around and walk your bike back home.

Cleaning Out

So today I decided to take on the task of trying to get my life in order. This meant driving back to the land of Sparta (GO GREEN!), buying/selling some texts books, and hopefully cleaning/gutting my closest (please feel free to hyperventilate with me). My closest has currently been condemned by the city due to its unhealthy state. Siiiigh. For some reason those clothes don't hang...or clean... or get rid of, themselves. Notice I also said hopefully even though it's past dinner time because this has been the slowest process of my life (mainly because I'm scared to go in there). 

I hear procrastination is key in these situations.

How do you go about cleaning out your closest? (If you reference Eminem in your response I will electronically high five you).

You ever have an outfit that just feels oh so right? No? Kinda maybe? I hope you're actually saying yes, because I experienced this today. When I put this together it was like the stars aligned for me. I know it's nothing over the top or anything super complicated, in fact it's actually quite simple, but it makes me feel so good (so good, so good, so really good!).

I feel happy and confident in this outfit... like it was meant for me. And THAT my friends, is a good indication that you did something right pulling the clothes out of your closest this morning. Because after all you should feel excellent in whatever you wear.

Happy New Years my blogging friends! I hope you all rang in 2012 with your loved ones and had a fun time doing it. I spent last night with friends, and The Boy having a blast and loving every minute of it. I didn't take any actual outfit pictures last night but I will post a few pictures from the evening later this week. Trust me, I celebrated in sparkles!

2011 has been a pretty solid year. I've gone through both big and small changes. It was an eventful year full of things like graduating, birthdays, losses, vacations, new friends, old friends, this blog (!) and mucho laughs with family. I have truly enjoyed it and feel so lucky to have such a great network of support to spend it with.

Although this past year was nothing short of spectacular, I am fully looking forward to what new and bright things 2012 has in store. So far it's been spent cuddled up, avoiding the cold, napping, and relaxing. I know great things are in store (especially for this lil' blog here. Got some good ideas and changes on the way!). I hope you all continue to read and experience what's to come with me, and that your new year will be just as awesome as I hope mine will be!
